When applying as a Visiting Student, applicants should indicate the classes they wish to enrol on at University College Cork (UCC). Courses are available across the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science, the College of Business and Law and the College of Medicine and Health.
Full list of classes within the above courses can be found here.
Visiting students can generally expect to gain admission to the classes listed in the handbook subject to any prerequisites as well as individual examination or timetable limitations. Certain classes, such as seminars, may also be restricted to small numbers.
Once you choose your classes, get in touch with your home institution and get the approval!
The International Office at UCC organises a two week Welcome Programme for all International students. The Welcome Programme will take place from the end of August.
A number of events will be organised during the two week period such as information meetings, walking tours of the city centre, cinema nights, table quizzes, Irish music and dance night, and trips at the weekend. This is in addition to activities and orientation offered by EZC Study Abroad as part of the overall program.
Note:
Please be advised that availability of classes is not guaranteed. At EZC we recommend all of our students select more classes than they will eventually take from the university book of modules (approximately 10 classes to start with). Approve all modules with your home institution before departure as this will allow you to have flexibility in scheduling when you register for classes on-site.
Your social and residential experience abroad is just as important as your academic studies at this wonderful university.
