Day 3

Valencia

  • Visit to a local market
  • Paella making lesson and dining experience – learn how to make this world famous dish which originated right here in Valencia
  • Visit to the Rice Museum – located in a rice mill which was built in the early 20th century
Day 4

Valencia

  • Visit the Mercado Central – one of the largest fresh produce markets in Europe
  • Visit La Lonja de la Seda – one of the most famous gothic monuments in Europe, this building was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996
Day 5

Barcelona or Madrid

  • Full Day Trip to either Barcelona or Madrid
  • Includes return trip by train, guided walking tour of the city centre and entrance to Sagrada Familia (Barcelona) or Museo del Prado (Madrid)
Day 6

Valencia

  • Guest lecture from a representative of the Valencia Hospitality Business Federation
  • Visit to the City of Arts and Science + Oceanographic – the largest aquarium in Europe is situated in this cultural and architectural complex
Day 7

Valencia

  • Guest lecture and visit at the Mediterraneo Culinary Center
  • Visit the Fallas Museum
Day 8

Valencia

  • The Huerta Experience – learn how Valencia became a leader in organic farming, tour the orchards and end the experience with a truly local meal called the Almuerzo Valenciano
Day 9

Valencia

  • Free Day
Day 10

Valencia

  • Visit Albufera Natural Park including a boat tour on Spain’s largest lagoon
  • Farewell meal in El Palmar village
Day 11

Return to USA

  • Check out of housing
  • Private transfer to airport for return flight to USA
  • Housing for this program is available in hotels or hostels
  • Breakfast is included
  • Some group lunches and dinners are included
  • Students will walk for many of the program activities so comfortable shoes are a must!
  • Private coach transfers will be arranged for certain excursions
